Washington DC National Mall Midcentury Americana Vintage Photograph

Title: "National Mall" - This unique image features young visitors to Washington D.C., USA, photographed by my late father-in-law Professor Jean Cazemajou in 1957. Two of these boys are wearing Confederate regalia, and they each appear to be carrying a small camera, perhaps a spring-loaded movie camera. This picture is part of a book my wife Agnès and I are putting together with the working title "Midcentury Road Trip: Images from a French Family's American Adventure in the 1950s." This photograph represents the essence of my passion for heritage photography. The original photo by Jean is on a color photo slide which I rescued and expertly scanned and restored with painstaking faith to the original.
